CHALLENGE!

I FINALLY got to do some digital scrapbooking tonight! I am so excited. I saw a post for one of the digital scrapbooking challenges on splitcoaststampers and had to do it!

Here's Jesse playing with a surf board at his last photo session at Picture People. This is the day we got Mother's Day, Father's Day, and Family photos done!

Splitcoaststampers.com Challenge: DGC036
Digital Scrapbooking Software: fxfoto
Digital Scrapbooking Kit: Snails and Whales found on ScrapGirls

The challenge was to create a page using (1) at least 3 summery papers; (2) use at least 4 elements; (3) use pre-made (purchsed or freebie) alphas for your title (rather than just using a font – fonts are fine for your journaling this time.) Oh, and one more –– (4) add some texture to at least one non-textured paper.

I did distressing to the red paper in the middle. I also made the background on each of Jesse's picture transparent, it turned out pretty neat because it looks like he's standing on sand in two of the pictures.

Jesse Bown or Cindy Brady

Tonight during Jesse's bath time I hear Chuck say "Baby talk baby talk it's a wonder you can walk".

And I hear Jesse just babbling on and on at Chuck. I laughed so hard and went into the bathroom and said to Chuck "OMG! He's not Cindy Brady!"

I couldn't tell if Chuck was slightly embarrassed or not. He is always quoting the Brady Bunch! LOL!

Eyeballs!

When I went to pick up Jesse yesterday afternoon they were watching some show that was teaching body parts with English, Spanish, and I think French. It was a pretty cute show. They showed a picture of Eyes and then said “Eyeballs”, Jesse says well yells “Eyeballs!”. Then he laughs and claps his hands. So funny!

Gayle............

When Jesse went into daycare this morning, he yelled for Gayle.

Jesse was in time out today and he yelled as loud as he could for Gayle. Mary and Melody (his teachers) said he kept yelling "Gayle....Gayle....Gayle". As if she was going to come help him and get him out of the crib.

Chuck's Dad

Chuck's dad fell on Monday, May 25th and has been in coma ever since. We are all hoping that he comes out of the coma soon. Praying for the best........

Mt. Dew

Last night Chuck was wearing his Mt. Dew pajama pants and Jesse was pointing at them saying "this", "this". So Chuck says "Mountain Dew", and Jesse repeated “Mountain Dew”. Clear as can be. We were shocked. It was really sweet and Chuck was very happy.

Jesse said Grandmom today!

Today Chuck, Jesse, and I took Chuck's mom out to lunch to Chili's for Mother's Day. We had a great time. Jesse was drinking milk out of a regular cup and was so proud of himself. He was having a blast with it. Then we went to the mall. After we dropped Chuck and his mom off at the door, Jesse cried!

After parking I said "Let's go get Daddy and Grandmom.". He said "Daddy" and then looked at me. So I said "And Grandmom", then again "Grandmom". So he said "Grandmom"; of course it came out more as "Gamom" but he said it! So the whole way walking into the mall he said "Gamom, Gamom". And then wouldn't say it again.

Jesse ended up having two time outs in the mall. What fun that was!

Then we all went to Wal-Mart. Again Jesse cried when his Gamom got out of the van at the front door. Once we were inside he was fine. Grandmom bought Jesse some hotwheels, which he absolutely loves! Here he is sitting on the Chez (sp?) lounge playing with his hotwheels with no shirt on. He was saying "cars" as Chuck took the picture.

Jesse vs the Catepillar

Leave it to my kid! This is the third time in two months that I have wanted to take Jesse to get his pictures taken and now he has another bruise. Daycare just called to say Jesse had a collision with the giant catepillar(sp?) in the play area! He is such a rough and tumble boy!

Front Garden

Our front garden is finally done! Here is a pic in our loving overcast evening before it starting raining again!

Almost Easter

I can't believe that it is almost Easter. It seems like we just finished Christmas! I was hoping to take Jesse to get Easter pictures but I don't think that is going to happen. We'll see. Maybe if he's in a really good mood tomorrow night I'll take him. We'll see!

Jesse's Valentine's 2009 Scrapbook Pages

I finally got to make scrapbook pages of Jesse from Valentine's Day this year. Man on man the year is flying by fast. I'm having a hard time keeping up!

I didn't use a scrapbook sketch this time. Just going with the flow and whatever felt right while making. As usual I used fxFoto to create the digital pages. I can't get say enough about how great this program is. So easy! I love it!

Gayle

When we pulled into the Leeds Point shopping center this morning Jesse started calling for Gayle. He kept saying "Gee, Gee", over and over again. It was so sweet. The whole time we were in the bagel store and the whole walk into daycare Jesse kept calling for Gayle. Then when he saw her, he ran to her and gave her a hug. So sweet!

Roni's Birthday Party

Roni turned 2 last week and yesterday was her birthday. The kids all had a great time playing, hitting the Elmo pinatta (sp?), having cake and ice cream. However, they were scared when Elmo came out to say hi.

Jesse loved Elmo. He kept going up and grapping Elmo's leg. And when Elmo turned his back Jesse grapped his butt! OMG! it was so funny. I thought grandmom was going to piss herself.

On our way home we stopped at WaWa to meet up with Michelle and to pick up milk. As we were walking in Jesse was saying "WaWa, WaWa".

The hour by hour forecast says that the rain is suppose to stop by 10:15 AM which is a dam good thing! I am ready to get outside and do some work!

Applesauce face

I'm not sure how much applesauce he got into his mouth.
But he had a great time feeding himself at
Olive Garden recently. And it kept him quiet!

He is doing so well with the spoon.

He was having a great time hamming it up with the couple behind him.

Chairs

Jesse loves climbing under the kitchen chairs now. He thinks it is his own personal jungle gym!

He's right!

More of Jesse's eating ...

Look at this face! How could you not love it!. Rosy cheeks, chef boy r dee on his nose and lips, and his hands are covered in guava baby food! I love it!

Eating on his own

Jesse is learning to feed himself. It is a messy process but he has been having fun with it. This session was eating green beans, baby food jar. Can't get him to pick up much yet.

Jesse's Valentines

This year was Jesse's first Valentine's at daycare. I made little goodie bags.

Goofy pic of Chuck from last december

Here is a goofy pic of Chuck wearing Jesse's hat last December.

Can you believe it took me this long to get this picture off my camera? WOW!

I think I have done it!

Well it has been a long time coming but I think, I repeat, I think I have gotten everything that was linked to my website transferred over here to the blog. At any rate I will be canceling my website tomorrow and will just use the blog and facebook.

If you would like to see me on facebook feel free to view my profile to the right and complete a friend's request.

Have a great night as I am headed to bed!

Today

We had a playdate/Hibachi dinner with the Willi's. We all had a great time. I'm am completely exhausted though.

The guys are upstairs having game night and I am just about ready for bed.

Not feeling that great. I hope Jesse didn't get me sick.

Did you love that weather today or what! It was wonderful. We bought a child seat for my bike today. I can't wait to get Jesse out for a bike ride tomorrow!

CBK Tutorials

I am so excited! I finally managed to get all of my tutorials posted here on the blog!

Please feel free to use them at your will.

Jesse's 15 Month Checkup

Jesse had his 15 month checkup today with Dr. Kessler.

So he has an ear infection and a sinus infection plus teething! UGH! What a mix. Dr. Kessler put him on Amoxicillian and said if the runny nose doesn't stop by Monday he needs to be seen again. Poor guy!

He got two shots today as well.

His new measurements are:
23 lbs 12 oz.
32 1/4 in tall
18 3/4 Head Circumference.

He is still in the 75% percentile bracket.

Bee line

Every morning when I drop Jesse off at day care he makes a bee line for the bathroom in the infant room. For whatever reason, lack of storage space probably, there is a jumparoo in the infant room bathroom. Jesse just loves this thing and goes running for it every morning.

Today was no exception. While I was talking with the director and signing Jesse in I could hear him laughing and playing with the jumparoo.

What a goofball!

At least he wasn't playing in the toilet! AHHHH, the little things. =)

Guess What?

I'm going to be a great Aunt!

My nephew Alan called me on Saturday to tell me that he just found out he is going to be a father. His girlfriend from last summer is 7 months pregnant.

This is the girl that had been told her entire life she was infertile. SURPRISE!

They know what they are having but won't tell anyone.....She's due May 25th.

SO, of course, I've been calling my sister grandma all weekend! And have been enjoying it. A LOT!

Sorry sis, but it's fun to tease ya every once in a while. You're taking the news quite well.

Alan seems very excited and I wish them all the best.

well.....

I just don't have a good excuse for why I haven't been posting.

I have been working extra hours every evening and well have .... I'm too tired to do much of anything else.

Jesse has been a bear, with teething, and not napping it has been just a wonderful time! Truly a wonderful time.

It is so sad to say but I think Chuck and I are really looking forward to getting back to work after our snow day today.

I have a bunch of pictures to post as usual and I hope to get to them soon.

Tonight I was able to download all of our bank statements that I never downloaded for the last six years. Yes, that's right I said six years! So, so, sad.

I will try to do better. =)

Dr.s Check up tomorrow

So I met with my new doc three weeks ago and I really liked him. I have a follow up appointment with him tomorrow evening to go over the blood work he ordered last time. Hopefully my bloodwork isn't too bad. We'll see tomorrow night!

Exercising again....yeah!

Lat Friday I started exercising again, finally. My breast is healing nicely and I am off all restrictions so back to exercising. I am hoping to get down under 200 lbs by the end of June. I know I can do it, I just need to be focused.

So far I have only missed one night of exercising since I started. I think that is good. I plan to do 2 nights of exercise then one night off two nights on, etc. etc. I think that is a good way to do it. Plus it will give my body a break.

So weigh in yesterday I am back to 232. I gained 12 pounds since my first surgery back in November. Considering I couldn't exercise or pretty much do anything for 3 months and it was over the holidays I can't complain too much about the weight gain.

Can't do anything but put that behind me and think positively that I will do better this time.

So here is to doing better this time! =)

Happy Valentine's Day

We took Jesse to get Valentine's pictures done last weekend. They turned out so cute!

I just love his cheesy smile! So cuate!

Jesse had so much fun throwing this heart around. It was difficult to get him
to keep it on the red side, but hey, that just wouldn't be him!
This is such a typical Jesse look.

I love this picture of him eating chocolate!

Yes Jesse has a mark on his lip. We don't know what he did. But I figure boys and boys and it will be rare that I get a picture of him without a bump or bruise somewhere. I think the pictures turned out great!

LOOONNNGGGG Week!

It has been such a long week. I have been working my butt off! I can't wait for Friday! I will finally get to relax. I have a half day tomorrow and I am thrilled! I will finally get to finish a few things around the house. One of which is cleaning up the basement. I have yet to tackle the mess I create at Christmas and it's Valentine's Day! OMG! But that is my goal, well that and to get the truck cleaned. I still have salt all over the truck from the snow and ice we had.

Jesse's Feet

I am getting more scrapbooking done these days and wanted to share with you my latest page. Jesse was fresh out of the tub getting dressed when he decided to play with his feet. I love these pics!

Here is the sketch challenge from SCS I used: SBSC25

Tuxedo

Chuck, Jesse, and I are going over to Liz's house this Saturday and he asked:

"do we know what we are doing with the Willis this weekend? We going there? They coming here? Times? What day? How long? Dinner? Formal or casual?"

Karen: "Formal dinner attire is expected. We will be having Maine Lobster and oysters under candlelight!"

Chuck: "Can we substitute filet mignon for oysters? Not real fond of oysters.
Besides, surf and turf is always a big hit. Oh, and do they have rental tuxedos in size 2T?"

Karen: "Actually they do have rental tuxedos in 2T. So cute! I wouild love to see him in a tux."

Chuck came back with ......

OMG! How cute is that! I love it!

Christmas Photos

OK, OK, so nothing like posting Christmas pictures when it's almost Valentine's day. Don't I feel like that neighbor who leaves their outside Christmas decorations up way too long! You know until Valentine's day.

Jesse and I waiting for Santa to arrive on the fire truck.

I think Jesse might have been getting hungry!

Jesse had a lot of fun opening his gifts!

Facebook

I posted a bunch of pictures to facebook tonight. The majority of them were ones that I have already posted here. However, I will post some of my Christmas pictures that I never got to post. MAN, I am so far behind!

Cold

UGH! I have a cold and I'm not happy about it.

I'm blaming this cold on Paul from work. Not sure if I caught his cold or not but it's his fault! LOL!

I have been fighting it since Thursday evening. Spent yesterday on the couch trying to recoup. I made it to work this morning but ended up back home by lunch time. I had the worst case of cold chills.

I have been getting quite a bit of work done this afternoon while in my jammies and under a thick comforter.

Grandmom's 80th Birthday

I finally got to do some digital scrapbooking tonight. I was able to do a page from Grandmom's 80th birthday this past November.

I used two scrapbooking challenges found on SplitCoastStampers.com: SBSC24 and DGC02.

My page can be found on Splitcoaststampers here.

The best "Little Johnnie" joke

My friend Liz sent this to me just a few minutes ago. Twisted, but so funny.

Little Johnnie's neighbor had a baby. Unfortunately, the baby was born without ears.

When mother and new baby came home from the hospital, Johnnie's family was invited over to see the baby. Before they left their house, Little Johnnie's dad had a talk with him and explained that the baby had no ears.

His dad also told him that if he so much as mentioned anything about the baby's missing ears or even said the word ears, he would get the smacking of his life when they came back home. Little Johnnie told his dad he understood completely.

When Johnnie looked in the crib he said, 'What a beautiful baby. The mother said, 'Why,thank you, Johnnie. Johnnie said, 'He has beautiful little feet and beautiful littlehands, a cute little nose and really beautiful eyes. Can he see alright?'

'Yes, the mother replied, we are so thankful; the Doctor said he willhave 20/20 vision.'

That's great, said Little Johnnie, coz he'd be f**ked if he needed glasses.

Brushing Teeth

So I've been trying to be quite diligent in brushing Jesse's teeth at bathtime. No I know I should do it everyday and I am working on that. But I always seem to remember at bathtime (which is every other day). UGH, I will remember!

Last night I was brushing Jesse's teeth and trying to see how many teeth came in recently. He's been teething and well let's just say it hasn't been fun. I knew definitely the third one of top. You can see that one clearly but the others were hard.

So as I am brushing and looking for teeth, Jesse moves away and decides to eat one of the bathtub letters he was holding. I said "No, No... No bite". He looked at me and bit it again. So I said again "No, No Jesse... No bite". He looked at his letter, the letter "D" and said "UH OH!" and then bit it again!

At this point, Chuck is laughing and hiding his face. Because I can see Chuck I can't help but laugh too. Needless to say I didn't get to see how many teeth Jesse has now and hit continued to bit the letter "D".

Just to point out Jesse loves to brush his teeth. And at one point he held the tooth brush and put it in his mouth. So we are getting some where. Maybe next time we'll try without holding any letters. LOL!

Time out

Jesse got another time out yesterday. Apparently one of the infants was in the swing and Jesse decided the baby needed to go really fast. He was caught pushing the swing himself back and forth real fast! OMG!

I know he doesn't understand. But still!
